![]() Andy Bodine is a very
passionate hair stylist with a genuine love for teaching.
Over the last 18 years Bodine has dedicated much of his
career to education in the professional beauty industry.
From beauty schools to hair salons to hair shows around the
country, Bodine has shared his knowledge and passion on
cutting and dressing hair with thousands of beauty
professionals. Bodine's creative work has been featured on
the runways for top fashion designers, TV, music videos,
theatre productions and in the editorial pages of top
fashion and trade magazines. Bodine went to high
school in England and was always inspired by the fashion and
hair trends he saw on the streets of London in the early
80's. After returning to the United States he enrolled in
cosmetology school and embarked on a journey that would
forever change his life. While still in beauty school,
Bodine began his quest for education by apprenticing with
world class hair professionals at John Paul Mitchell
Systems. This led into a national educator position with the
hair care leader, which spanned for 10 years. In 1999 Bodine's love for
teaching inspired him to open a state-of-the-art cosmetology
school that was determined to go "beyond the basics" and
give students a more rounded education and a jump start to
success. The intimate classroom environment and "virtual
salon" clinic provided an opportunity for students to work
as they were in a real salon, with professional tools,
products and a younger, trendier clientele than most schools
attracted. Bodine's former students have gone on to become
top hair stylists, salon owners, educators and platform
artists within just a few short years of graduation. In addition, Bodine was
now traveling the country educating beauty professionals on
behalf of John Sahag Products. Bodine trained closely with
the legendary hairdresser both in his Madison Avenue Salon
in New York City and during private hair show appearances
that Sahag would make for salons carrying the product line
that bared his name. "John Sahag's innovative dry cutting
technique totally re-invented my craft" say's Bodine, who
was one of Sahag's top educators for 5 years. This led
Bodine to Los Angeles, CA where he cut and styled hair for
Hollywood's A list clientele in Beverly Hills and also
worked with photographers and directors on the sets of
editorial photoshoots and music video's. After the passing of his mentor John Sahag in June 2005, Bodine began searching for a way he could carry on the torch he had been handed. Soon he was introduced to an innovative and progressive young company from England named ghd that was soon to launch in the U.S. It turned out that ghd was one of the fastest growing beauty company's in the world, coupling fashion, style and image together with an outstanding styling iron, marketing concept and brilliantly creative ad campaigns. ghd is a high fashion global brand and a perfect platform for Bodine to share his talent and passion. In March of 2006 he was chosen as one of the first ghd U.S. Directive Artists and later annointed as the ghd U.S. Artistic Ambassador. Since then Bodine has been traveling the world doing hair shows, photo shoots, fashion shows and inspiring ghd salon pro's! Look for Bodine's work on the runways of New York, Paris and Los Angeles fashion weeks. Stay tuned.......... |
